Welcome to the official website of Hanover Youth Lacrosse, Inc., a non-profit organization located in Hanover, Massachusetts dedicated to the development of the sport of lacrosse. Our philosophy is based on fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere where every member of a team will see playing time no matter what program we operate. We believe playing opportunity at the youth level should be based on each child's desire to play, not necessarily their ability. Regardless of ability, every member of a team will be treated with encouragement and respect by the coaching staff. Please send all mail to:
Although Hanover Lax is not sponsoring the camp below, we thought we would pass this information along to you if you are interested in playing over the summer.
Hanover Park and Recreation and Hanover alumni have teamed up to bring you Boost Lacrosse Camp.
Boost Lacrosse Camp is a program directed towards the beginning player, entering 3rd 4th 5th and 6th grade, who is prepared to improve his game using the skills learned in the first years of lacrosse. Most players will come to Boost with at least one year of experience and if not, Boost is the perfect camp for a beginning player to step their game up as well.
We will use a variety of drills and activities to infuse the basics into our campers and eventually use those skills in game time circumstances. Our goal is to help out each player individually as much as we can through team drills and skill-building activities but most of all have fun along the way playing the great game of lacrosse. Boost is the perfect camp to take your game to the next level with a fast paced, well coached and fun filled atmosphere.
The typical day will run as follows:
·Check in, warm-up, stretching
·Shooting/Passing Stations
·Skills Sessions
·Team Practices
·Games
·End of the day (competitions with prizes)
Skills Sessions will include further focus on the skills and maneuvers a young player may use to gain an advantage on the competition. These skills include correct shooting technique, face off work, dodging techniques, 1 on 1 maneuver, checking and positioning techniques, and footwork.
