Welcome to the official website of Hanover Youth Lacrosse, Inc., a non-profit organization located in Hanover, Massachusetts dedicated to the development of the sport of lacrosse.  Our philosophy is based on fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere where every member of a team will see playing time no matter what program we operate.  We believe playing opportunity at the youth level should be based on each child's desire to play, not necessarily their ability.  Regardless of ability, every member of a team will be treated with encouragement and respect by the coaching staff. Kindgergarten LAX

The Boys & Girls Kindergarten Youth Lacrosse Program. This program is intended to introduce basic fundamentals of lacrosse skills and have fun. Expect practice to be one hour per week.Equipment will be supplied by Hanover Youth Lacrosse. Please come with your son or daughter dressed in cleats or sneakers, shorts/pants.
The regular season begins after April vacation, and will go into mid-June 2012. Please check the website for the official start date of practice. Depending on the weather we may have a few informal "practices" before then.
 
The fee of the program is $50.00 plus a $25.00 registration fee to US Lacrosse

Girls program joining South Shore League

Good Morning Parents and Players,

I am sending this email to all parents of the Hanover Girls Youth Lacrosse program.  In the past there has bee a lot of feedback on the amount of travel that the girls program has made in the past years.  There a 2 leagues in the South Shore, the Mass Bay Girls Youth lacrosse League ( which we are currently enrolled in ) and the South Shore lacrosse league ( which there are 10 surrounding teams enrolled in ) There are a few different ruled that are the difference in the 2 leagues. The South Shore Lacrosse League (SSLL)- For example the teams are grade based, 3rd grade, 4th grade not 3rd/4th,5th/6th.  The 3rd and 4th grade teams play on a full field, not a 1/2 field.  The 5th and 6th grade teams also have modified checking like the 7th and 8th grade teams have, where as Mass Bay rules are that only the 7th and 8th grade teams have modified checking.  And SSLL does not have a 3 pass rule in the 5th,6th,7th and 8th grades. The SSLL consists of 10 towns - Braintree, Cohasset, Duxbury, Hingham, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth,Sandwich and Scituate. Representatives from the Hanover Lacrosse board, coaches and myself recently met with two members of the South Shore Lacrosse League. The Board has voted and we have decided to change leagues and become the 11th team in the South Shore League.
